Originally known as Adams Field and now currently also known as just Clinton National Airport and Little Rock Municipal Airport, this airport is operated by the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission. It does not typically serve international travelers, but it is a very busy domestic airport. In fact, it is the largest commercial airport in the state of Arkansas.
About Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport – Little Rock, AR (LIT)
The history of Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport dates all the way back to 1937 when it was known as Adams Field. It wasn’t until 1972 that the airport began to expand, and it opened a 12-gate terminal to serve increasing passenger traffic. Renovation plans went underway in 2008 to expand and improve the terminal. The airport wasn’t renamed to Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport until 2012.
