Northwest Alabama Regional Airport is a public-use airport located in Muscle Shoals, a city in Colbert County, Alabama. It is located five nautical miles (9 km) east of the central business district of Tuscumbia, also a city in Colbert County that owns the airport through the City Utilities Board. The airport was formerly known as Muscle Shoals Jetport. This airport is included in the FAA’s National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility. The current tower opened prior to February 1, 1991, replacing an earlier structure built in 1948.

The airport, originally known as the Hackensack Airport, opened in 1919 on former swampland. It was eventually purchased by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1949. The airport has since been used as a general aviation facility and is active 24 hours per day with tie-downs for private planes, flight training schools, and charter flights.
In May 2003, the Port Authority announced the sale of Teterboro to a developer for as much as $100 million as part of a plan to reduce its portfolio. The planned community that would be built on the Teterboro site was known as Aero Acres at Teterboro Airport, which included single-family homes, townhouses, rental apartments, and condominiums. The plan, however, was put on hold.
