Eagle Ford Shale

eagle ford shaleLocated in South Texas and regarded as the most active shale play in the world with 250 rigs running, the Eagle Ford Shale is changing both the ecological and economic landscape of Southern Texas.

The EFS takes its name from the town of Eagle Ford, Texas where record drilling opportunities have been discovered. The area is extremely lucrative for those who have the means to infiltrate it.

There are approximately 30 counties that have been recognized as viable sources in the region. Although wells have been tested as far south as Mexico, the shale’s main area stretches from Gonzales to Webb County.

With the potential to transform the economy of Texas, the Eagle Ford Shale is a hot (REMOVE button) topic in both the oil and real estate industry. Many small airports surrounding the shale have been forced to upgrade their capacity due to the Eagle Ford rush.
